FAQ

Questions facilities ask about QR arc flash labels

The mechanics of running virtual arc flash labels day to day — what changes when the study changes, what the field sees, and what setup actually requires from your team.

What happens to the QR labels when our arc flash study changes?

The database is updated once with the new study values, and every QR code on your equipment resolves to the new data from that moment. The physical labels never need reprinting, because the label on the equipment is just a pointer — the data lives centrally.

Do technicians need an app or a login to scan a label?

No app and no login for field access. Scanning the QR code opens the equipment's public data page in the phone's browser. A signed-in view with additional detail exists for your team's accounts.

What do we need to provide to get set up?

Your existing arc flash study and equipment list, as-is — the report your engineering firm delivered. We build the equipment database from it and you review the result before anything goes live.

Does PowerStudyIQ perform the arc flash study itself?

No. PowerStudyIQ hosts and maintains the results of a study performed by a licensed engineer. If you don't have a current study, our sister firm PowerSafe Engineering, LLC performs them; if you work with another firm, we build from their deliverables just the same.

What happens if a QR label gets damaged or painted over?

Print a replacement from the platform and mount it. The equipment record and its history are unaffected — the sticker is replaceable, the data isn't on it.

How is PowerStudyIQ priced for a facility?

Annual subscription, priced per facility, quoted after a conversation about your site. No hardware, no per-scan fees, no per-user fees. The energy intelligence module is a separate optional add-on.

Can we keep using our current engineering firm for studies?

Yes. PowerStudyIQ is study-firm-agnostic: whoever performs your next study, the updated values go into the same database and every label stays current.
